Medstead v Wherwell (away, 24/08/2019)
Wherwell gain promotion after 10 wins in a row. KJM sponsored Wherwell CC travelled away to Medstead. Medstead won the toss and elected to bat. Knowing promotion was in reach, Wherwell started well with Oliver Emslie removing opener Harry Goles for a duck in the 2nd over. This was an omen of things to come, as O Emslie took hold of the Meadstead innings taking his maiden 5 haul. O Emslie bowled his 9 over spell with great skill and vigor constantly getting batters in trouble playing and missing.

Wherwell v Old Basing II (home, 17/08/2019)
Wherwell make it 9 wins in a row. KJM sponsored promotion chasing Wherwell at home to Old Basing II. Wherwell lost the toss and were put into bat on a slow surface. Wherwell openers played watchfully, seeing off the new ball. Old Basing struck in the 10th over sending back Alex Gladwyn for 12. Skipper Robbie Skeates was out caught behind on a good looking 27. The dependable Matt Cutts and Ollie Emslie were brought together but unfortunately both were dismissed soon after, leaving Wherwell 88-4 in 28 overs and in trouble.

Compton & Chandlers Ford II v Wherwell (away, 10/08/2019)
Wherwell make it 8 wins in a row! KJM Sponsored Wherwell travelled away to Compton and Chandlers Ford II. Under overcast skies and strong winds, Wherwell lost the toss and were put into bat on a green track. Wherwell openers started off strongly, finding runs easy to come by. Alex Gladwyn was the first to go with an attractive 27 runs. Fellow Opener Craig Beckingham was out soon after for 30 runs, leaving Wherwell 68-2.

Wherwell v Rowledge (home, 03/08/2019)
Wherwell make it 7 wins in a row! KJM Sponsored Wherwell were at home to Rowledge CC. Rowledge won the toss and elected to bat on a flat track. Wherwell initially started well as Oliver Emslie bowled the opener Paul Shaylar for 1. Rowledge took the attack to Wherwell scoring over 6 runs an over at the end of the 10th over with the loss of only one wicket. Mike Cutts and Steve Turner took quick wickets to restrict the run rate and slow the scoring.

Stockbridge v Wherwell (away, 27/07/2019)
KJM Sponsored Wherwell travelled away to Stockbridge at Leckford. Under overcast skies, Wherwell lost the toss and were put into bat. Stockbridge started well, sending back both Wherwell openers in quick succession. The innings rebuild fell at the feet of Matt Cutts and Oliver Emslie. They set about their jobs smartly putting away any bad balls they faced to the boundary and constantly rotating the strike. Matt Cutts bought up his 50 with a square drive.

Alton III v Wherwell (away, 06/07/2019)
Saturday’s game for KJM sponsored Wherwell looked a tough on at fourth placed Alton III’s played hosts. With vice captain and leading wicket taker Ollie Emslie away, skipper Robbie Skeates finally won a toss and elected to bat. It was another hot day and the newly formed opening partnership of Skeates and Alex Gladwyn started very strong, with Skeates scoring plenty of boundaries from Alton’s fast bowlers and Gladwyn deciding to score his boundaries from their spinners.

Wherwell v Twyford (home, 13/07/2019)
KJM sponsored Wherwell CC won the loss for just the second time this season and opted to field first. Twyford openers G & M McKenzie both showed promising intent early on but Wherwell replied with a convincing bowling attack toppling nearly their entire line up restricting their innings to just 31.3 overs. All bowlers took a slice of the pie with tremendous effort on a rock solid pitch making it difficult for all batsmen of the day.

Littleton & West Hill v Wherwell (away, 29/06/2019)
KJM Sponsored Wherwell travelled to Littleton & West Hill. Wherwell lost the toss were put to bowl. Wherwell started superbly, building constant pressure by keeping the run rate down. After the drinks break Steve Turner returning from his stag, broke the opening stand and took 3 quick wickets. Wherwell kept Littleton’s scoring in check, taking wickets at regular stages. Only resistance coming from Nigel Dibben 80 runs and Jim Dicks 37runs.

Wherwell v Hook & Newnham Basics IV (home, 22/06/2019)
KJM sponsored Wherwell at home to Hook & Newnham Basics IV’s. Wherwell won the toss and elected to bowl. Wherwell started superbly, keeping the run rate down and taking wickets constantly. This display limited the visitors to 132-9 in 45 overs. Only resistance coming from Michael Dyer 25 runs and Tony Robson 22 runs. Oliver Emslie, Mike Cutts and Matt Cutts took 2 wickets each. Wherwell in reply chased the target of 132 down in 29.

Holybourne v Wherwell (away, 15/06/2019)
KJM sponsored Wherwell away at Holybourne. Under overcast conditions Holybourne won the toss and decided to bowl. In a stop start innings due to the rain, Wherwell started off poorly losing 2 wickets quickly. R Skeates 61 and O Emslie 51 patiently built the innings with a 100+ run partnership. The lower order failed to convert the strong position provided by R Skeates and O Emslie. Wherwell ended on 171. R Milner was pick of the bowlers for Holybourne, he took 4 wickets.
